North Devon Spring Ride Sunday 11th April, again we were lucky with a nice sunny day, most welcome after the extended bad weather of this spring. Not so many riders this year - 25 - due to many horses & ponies just starting their fitness programme due to the weather. We were, however, able to present North Devon Air Ambulance with a cheque for £350 as co-beneficiaries of this charity ride.

Sunday 5th April was fortunately dry, 45 riders assembled at Huckham Farm, Arlington to set of in small groups to enjoy a 6 or 12 mile ride over permissive routes in the National Trust Arlington Court Estate, through woods and around the lakes, continuing on to linking bridle and byways around Arlington and Loxhore Parishes before returning to Huckham for coffee and hot cross buns.

Saturday 13th June was another day hosted by Heather Moffett at her East Leigh yard, this time for a lecture/demo day of classical riding, training techniques,
in-hand work, dismounted workshop, saddle fitting and designs, and 3 demo lessons with brave volunteer guinea pig riders with their own horses.
This again is a day we hope to repeat due to demand for tickets.

On the 9th May 10 lucky members congregated at East Leigh for the first BHS run Simulator Day with Heather Moffett. We were first taken to the indoor school for a lecture/demonstration
with Heather riding Lusitano stallion Rei, WHY does it look so easy when its not you on the horse!! See welcome page for some outdoor pictures of Rei proving he doesn't need the confines of an arena to perform.
Coffee followed before we braved the Equisimulator room to be introduced to the three steeds, all luckily sporting Heathers supremely comfortable own design saddles.
